While the West Coast keeps bubbling with talent, Fashawn has to be one on the forefront of the movement. With breakout tapes like One Shot, One Kill with Mick Boogie and Higher Learning Fashawn is out to prove he can spit with the best of them. His debut album Boy Meets World (entirely produced by Exile) drops October 20th, and while this has a different sound than the album, an entire tape produced by Alchemist is an achievement on its own. Expect that gutter, “razor under the tongue rap” on this. Fresno, CA has once again found a new voice.

For all you Street Fighter fans, I’m sure you are all aware of the HD (that’s right 1080p) release of your favorite two-dimensional fighting game this past week. As a bonus, Capcom included a download of the Street Fighter Underground Remix Soundtrack with every purchase. I think it’s exclusive to the PlayStation Network, but hey, it’ll surface the internet soon, right?
Here’s a few tracks I was able to find:

Hieroglyphics - Fighting in the Streets
Redman - Lay You Out (prod. by Oh No)
DJ Q-Bert - Super Beat
Zion-I - Warrior Class Bounce
Eh, I’m impartial to some of the songs, but I felt they were worth sharing.
PS: Check out the Street Fighter: The Later Years series if you haven’t. Oldie but goodie.

Just unearthed: Ludacris - MVP (produced by DJ Premier)
Luda’s new album “Theater of the Mind” is set to drop on the 24th on Def Jam. The wikipedia article shows the last track on the album is produced by 9th—this reinforces 2009 foreshadowing a dynamic change in hip hop collabos (mosdef+madlib/oh no highly anticipated too!) . Be on the lookout!
Godz Gift and Kazi
These cats are maaaaad underrated. They rarely get the credit they deserve because they rarely release shit (as the saying goes, quality over..) You might’ve remembered those names off Lootpack’s Soundpieces LP, but you probably didn’t follow up on them. So here’s a few joints that might set you on a hunt.
Kazi
Other than the Lootpack tracks he cut, Stones Throw released the Down for the Kaz 12” with Madlib back in 2000. Then in 2004, through Brick9000 Records, he released The Plague, a full album with Oh No on production. Other than these two releases, I haven’t had any luck finding out about any other solo joints, only appearances on other artists’ tracks (I’ve yet to come across them).
I’ll let you listen, rather than have you read the lyrics transcribed.
A.V.E.R.A.G.E.
So Invincible
Godz Gift
This fool is nasty. He has this sarcastic sounding cadence which fits his dope ass moniker. Other than some Lootpack joints, I only know of appearances on some Declaime and Kan Kick tracks, other than that he’s been laying low.
Undisciplined
Antidote to the Antidope
Hear them both on Episodes
I hope I left ya’ll with some new favorites. We’ll continue to keep the content interesting. If you’d like to know/hear more, hit me up!!!!!! PEACE!!
